Salute to Supernatural convention - LAcon

So, obviously, these aren't all of them. I'll upload more. Eventually. No videos this time. Sorry. Being sneaky is just too exhausting.

The things I do for the cons *smh*

I am really, really, really, REALLY liftophobic. (I'm guessing that's not a real word?) I avoid elevators. I really, really do. I mean, even when I go to work* (they're on the 5th floor), I ignore the damn thing. (It's a good thing I go there only once a month, because - 5th floor, ppl! 5th!!)
But every time I go to a convention, I'm riding those elevators like there's no tomorrow. Mostly because I don't really have a choice. I do have to get to my room somehow. But yeah, for those few days, elevators and I are best friends. Well, not really, but you know what I mean.

Not many people know this (well, except everyone who read it on my Twitter and LJ), but I am somewhat of a photo op wh... Wait, what's a google friendly word for wh... Uhm... Hoo... No. Esco...No. For a streetwalker? I know. Photo op lady of the night. (Yeah, it does sound stupid.) Don't get me wrong, I'm unphotogenic as hell, but there's nothing like going to that photo op room, going through hundreds and hundreds of photos hoping that they didn't forget to print mine just to finally find it and see how awful I look in it. Best feeling in the world! Woot!
Well, anyways...
I had to sacrifice 5 photo ops (5!! hmm, I'm seeing a pattern here) to get one. A really expensive one. The one with Jensen, Jared and Jim. I suppose it'll be worth it in the end, but when it comes to photo ops, I'm all about quantity. The more the better! And this is just killing me. I would also like to take this opportunity and apologize to Jim, Mark, Steven, Richard and Misha & Jim. I'm sorry, but I had to do it. I mean, it's one more photo op with Jensen. And Jared. But mostly Jensen. You know how it is... :D *sigh*

* Funny story (that's not really funny at all). My mom's friend used to live in the exact same building where I work now, only she was on the 4th floor. (I even lived there for a few months during the war.) And that bloody elevator is the only elevator I actually got stuck in. So no wonder I refuse to go anywhere near it.

Piece of cake

I'm still in the running for that job as a writer for a web portal. All I have to do is write something or translate somebody else's something by Sunday and make sure that that something is better than other people's something. Piece of cake.

I made it to the second round. All I have to do is write something riveting and the job is mine. Probably. Actually, the candidates have to write their own article or translate somebody else's Internet article and provide a link. Yes, I said OR. Like it's the same thing. So, ppl will either prove that they can write or that they can translate. Yeah, definitely the same thing.

How CreationEnt ruined the convention for me even before I left for LA

Kudos to Creation Entertainment. They really are almighty. I'm still at home, haven't even packed yet, con is still a week and a half away, and I'm already deeply disappointed.

Cause auctioning off that jam session with Jensen and Jason? Worst. Idea. Ever.

We all know that Jensen doesn't sing in public.* We'd all have a better chance of seeing a unicorn than of hearing him sing (live). I mean, I'd even attend JIB if I knew for sure he would sing. (I have issues with JIB, so it would take a lot to get me there.) It's like my Holy Grail.

So imagine my unpleasant surprise when someone at Creation got the brilliant idea to offer the fans a jam session with Jensen and his guitar. Sounds perfect, right? It comes with a catch.
It's not for everybody at the con. Oh, no. It's just for the filthy rich fans. (Disclaimer: Don't get me wrong, I don't have anything against filthy rich fans. If you're rich, good for you. Hell, I'd LOVE to be filthy rich.) I really do love it when ppl offer me something I can't really have. It makes me all warm and tingly inside.

OK, truth be told, I could have it. If I went to my bank and took out a loan. But I'm still sane enough to refuse to get a loan for this. (If Rising con gets Jensen and Jared, I fear that all bets will be off, but right now I'm still holding on to my sanity. Conoholic in me weeps.)

And I really don't know what would be worse. If somebody actually thought that this would be a nice treat for the fans or if they did it just to get more money. Honestly, I think I would respect them more if they were just greedy. Money does make the world go around, after all. But to do something this mean to the fans and still think they are doing us a favor, well that's just really, really... not smart.

Dear Creation Entertainment, jam session with Jensen WOULD be a nice treat. If it was a Friday (or Saturday or Sunday) night concert that everybody can attend (even if we had to pay a bit more for it). But to dangle this in front of our faces just to remind us that most of us aren't rich enough to have it... Just how inconsiderate ARE you?

I'm also somewhat of a loner. Would you like to rub that in too?

*Please, ignore Jus in bello 2010. I'm making a point here.

It's a boy!

286 x 196 x 21 mm. 1.1 kg. Has all its keys. And already has a name. It's Asus Eee PC 1005PXD. Asus for short. :)

Isn't it shiny? :D

I was supposed to get 1001PXD, but they didn't have the white one, so they had to order it. It never came. They got 1005PXD instead. I didn't really mind. The only difference is that 1001 is matte and 1005 is glossy. And this one is prettier anyway.

EDIT:
Every once in a while Google sends people who need info on 1005PXD this way. Since this post is mostly me gushing about my pretty, glossy netbook, if you have any questions about this Asus, you can write them as comments and I'll try to answer them. (But please don't go too technical on me.)
What I can say right now is that buying a netbook was the best decision ever, Windows 7 Starter sux (I really, really, really want a wallpaper) and remember this -> Ctrl + 0 (it resets zoom level to default) cause it'll come more than handy when you accidentally zoom out (I blame touchpad for that one).
