Crossroads

VegasCon is almost here and I 'don't know what to do'. (And now I have that song I'll stand by you stuck in my head and that's like the least fitting song at this moment. Oh, the irony!)

I have two photo ops with Jensen, but I'm seriously considering selling (at least) one of them.

VegasCon will be my 8th con and I always had two POs with him. Guess it's kind of a tradition by now. But something happened 3 months ago and I'm... Well, let's just say that, right now, I'd rather not have my picture taken with him at all. But. If I do get rid of the ticket(s), I'm afraid I'll regret that later. Once I stop being pissed and disappointed. And I'm still hoping that'll happen. (Preferably before JIB.)

So I'm really not sure what to do here. To sell or not to sell? I'll probably leave it until Friday and decide then. *sigh*

BurCon 2012 - videos

Jensen and Jared Q&A (St. Jude)

Jensen and Jared Q&A (birthday cake)

OK, so I obviously decided to upload a few videos. I'm still not sure if I want to upload everything, but I immediately knew that I wanted to upload these two. Because there are some things people should get a chance to see. :)

In conclusion: Happy belated birthday to Jensen and happy soon to be birthday to the Padababy. :)

Happy birthday, Jensen Ackles!

It's March 1st and it's Jensen's b-day. 33rd.

Happy birthday, Jensen. :)

Hope you have a great day. May all your scenes be wrapped in one take and all your presents so awesome that you don't want to return them.

Here's something I wrote for his birthday. Two years ago. So if you happened to see this before, yes, I am recycling. What? At least I wrote something. I don't see your poems being posted around. (No, I'm not overly defensive. Why do you ask? *utterly surprised* lol)

And in case someone missed it (as impossible as that sounds), our favorite birthday boy was trending (worldwide) today. For HOURS. :D (Actually, it's 7:55 pm in Cro right now and he's still trending, but I'm assuming most of you won't see this post immediately, hence the past tense.)

LAcon 2011 videos - Jensen and Jared Q&A

I guess I finally gave up. Well, not completely, obviously, but yeah. Videotaping cons just became too mentally exhausting.

Apparently, the story goes like this: we are not allowed to videotape because actors requested that and even have it in their contracts.

I'm calling bull.

At least to that s in actors. Because, let's face it, most guests don't mind. They joke about it during their panels. Louden Swain even tweeted the links to the videos last year. So I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that they really don't care. Plus, none of them is at every con. Well, except Jared. Dude is dedicated. (But Jensen and Misha come close.) And yet, somehow, the rule about videotaping never changes. No matter who's actually at the con.

So, which actors, if any, have it in their contracts?

I'd say it's probably not Misha, he just doesn't seem the type. Although people CAN surprise us.
And after Jared's 'Stop the cameras!' at this year's LAcon, I'm thinking it's not in his contract either. I mean, if he was yelling Stop the cameras, he obviously knew people were videotaping and obviously didn't care. (He yelled it as a joke after somebody said something bad about CW. Like, to make sure ppl from CW don't see it on YT.)
So, that leaves Jensen. Which is actually quite believable. But I'd like to think that he would've said something by now if he really had a problem with the whole videotaping thing. And it would've been more effective than Creation's arbitrary rules. Yes, I'm calling them arbitrary. Pics or it didn't happen. *nods*

So, what's left? Con report, videos and photo ops. Right, I'm on it.

I was unpleasantly surprised when I saw the pics. These breakfast pics usually turn out better than panel pics because lighting really sucks in the theater, but this time... (And that red head in front of me really didn't help.)

How CreationEnt ruined the convention for me even before I left for LA

Kudos to Creation Entertainment. They really are almighty. I'm still at home, haven't even packed yet, con is still a week and a half away, and I'm already deeply disappointed.

Cause auctioning off that jam session with Jensen and Jason? Worst. Idea. Ever.

We all know that Jensen doesn't sing in public.* We'd all have a better chance of seeing a unicorn than of hearing him sing (live). I mean, I'd even attend JIB if I knew for sure he would sing. (I have issues with JIB, so it would take a lot to get me there.) It's like my Holy Grail.

So imagine my unpleasant surprise when someone at Creation got the brilliant idea to offer the fans a jam session with Jensen and his guitar. Sounds perfect, right? It comes with a catch.
It's not for everybody at the con. Oh, no. It's just for the filthy rich fans. (Disclaimer: Don't get me wrong, I don't have anything against filthy rich fans. If you're rich, good for you. Hell, I'd LOVE to be filthy rich.) I really do love it when ppl offer me something I can't really have. It makes me all warm and tingly inside.

OK, truth be told, I could have it. If I went to my bank and took out a loan. But I'm still sane enough to refuse to get a loan for this. (If Rising con gets Jensen and Jared, I fear that all bets will be off, but right now I'm still holding on to my sanity. Conoholic in me weeps.)

And I really don't know what would be worse. If somebody actually thought that this would be a nice treat for the fans or if they did it just to get more money. Honestly, I think I would respect them more if they were just greedy. Money does make the world go around, after all. But to do something this mean to the fans and still think they are doing us a favor, well that's just really, really... not smart.

Dear Creation Entertainment, jam session with Jensen WOULD be a nice treat. If it was a Friday (or Saturday or Sunday) night concert that everybody can attend (even if we had to pay a bit more for it). But to dangle this in front of our faces just to remind us that most of us aren't rich enough to have it... Just how inconsiderate ARE you?

I'm also somewhat of a loner. Would you like to rub that in too?

*Please, ignore Jus in bello 2010. I'm making a point here.

What do you mean, it's not a legitimate addiction?!

It all started 8 years ago with a TV show I didn't even particularly like. Why didn't I like it? I have absolutely no idea. I love shows like that. Should've been one of my favorites. It's a freakin' mystery, that's what it is. *nods* But I digress. Dark Angel. The show was Dark Angel.
That's when I first saw Jensen Ackles. Mind you, back then I only knew his name. It was the BI era. Before Internet. Bloody inconvenient.
It never even crossed my mind that some day I might be close enough to actually have my hands on the guy. In a perfectly respectful way, of course. But only 6 years and one registration to CW lounge later, it all became less impossible. I found out about Creation Entertainment's Salute to Supernatural conventions and said to myself What the heck! I can afford to go to ONE con.
So I bought the tickets for ChiCon. And then I just kept on buying and kept on going. No willpower whatsoever. 4 cons in one year. VanCon 2009, ChiCon 2009, LAcon 2010 and VanCon 2010. And yes, it's just as expensive as it sounds. And I'm still moping every time I remember that I couldn't go to Rising Con. *mopes* See?
Of all the hobbies in the world, I had to choose the priciest one. Yeah, OK, I admit it. It's not really a hobby so much as it is a full-fledged addiction.

Hi. My name is Eliann and I'm a conoholic. Can I get a Hi, Eliann?
