Happy birthday, Jared Padalecki!

Happy birthday, Jared! :)

Birthday wishes are so not my forte, but let's see what I can come up with. *thinks*

Hope you have a great day (preferably a day off). And I'm sure you wouldn't mind getting a huge b-day cake and lots of presents you won't want to change for something else tomorrow. *fingers crossed* And I hope you get some great news about season 8... No, wait. That's what I want for my b-day. :p Anyways, have lots of fun and feel free to tweet some pics. :D

Rising con 3?

Comunicado

Good for you, ppl. This is something I really appreciate, you coming out and saying it loud and clear - we won't get Jensen and Jared, will you come anyway?

I wish I could say yes.

But I said it before, and I'll say it again, there's no way I could afford more than 2 cons a year, so guest list really does matter. It's not that other guests aren't great, but, y'know... Dealbreaker. *shrugs*

Mediatranslations found me

I just wish it was my CV they found and not my blog. *sigh*

I was going through my stats to see who's stalking me reading my blog (cause I'm curious like that :p) and lo and behold! there it was. IP address: Mediatranslations. Google led them to one of my posts. It was the one where I ranted about croupiere/crouppiers. And THAT is why one should always include words PICK ME! PICK ME! PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY, PICK ME! when blogging about part-time jobs one wishes one had. (Too many ones?) It shows certain je ne sais quoi, y'know. *coughdesperationcough*

I should really check my stats more often.

Q: So, did I find a part-time job? A: It's summer.
Non sequitur much? Actually, no. Summer = 50°C in the shade = headaches = me hiding inside the house during the day = work from home is a must = no part-time work-from-home jobs = still no part-time job.

Donation that doesn't feed the soul

First JIB photo ops are bought and paid for. 2 Jensen (y'know, tradition) and 1 Jared. I probably won't get any Misha (solo) photo ops. *blames the budget* OK, maybe I'll buy one. Eventually. If they don't sell out. But probably not. However... I'll definitely buy me a few of those duo photo ops. So, that'll cover Misha as well. I mean, it's not like I wanna snub him or anything. And Richard? Well, when this thing is over, I'll definitely have one photo op with him. It just might not be a solo. Duos FTW!

SmurfCon

I guess ppl who attended the con had a good time, but for me, it all sounded pretty disappointing. They didn't get my Dealbreaker and Jared, lost JDM, moved to a more expensive hotel, had unsellable tickets, photo ops were turning blue (fastest way to lose my support? mess with my photo ops) and had big problems at BloodyNightCon cocktail(?) (not my cup of tea, but still). I'm kinda really glad I wasn't there.

KLZ practically announced Rising con 3 : "Este año hemos tenido algunos retrasos que no volveremos a permitir en la nueva Rising Con 3 que está a un paso de ser confirmada y que esperamos cuente también con vuestro apoyo." And as much as I wanted to go this year, I'm not sure I'd want to spend that much money just to be disappointed in the end. Dealbreaker or no Dealbreaker. Not that it matters, I suppose. I'm already going to Burbank and Rome and there's no way that I could afford Barcelona as well. So, yeah, that probably means they'll have a blast next year. *sigh*

@JarPad

This has absolutely nothing to do with conventions and/or part-time jobs, but this is my blog and I can write whatever the hell I want, so there. :p

Jared's finally on Twitter. :D I might be squeeing right now. In my head of course, cause it's more age appropriate. Or something. *nods*

And Jared's finally trending. \o/

APgate

Well, that was... interesting. Angel passes sold out after 3 minutes, hours before anyone who's new to JIB could even think about requesting a pass. That, of course, started the whole fair-unfair debate. From where I'm sitting, I'm gonna go with unfair. (With just a hint of Newbies are feeling unwelcome.) But I guess I do understand why the repeat customers got an early start. And I'm sure that JIB ppl couldn't have known that the passes would disappear in the blink of an eye.

However, as understanding as I am, I am also deeply disappointed. I wanted the whole JIB experience. Angel pass (since I can't afford Prophet), La dolce vita and/or Roman holiday (if they have those) and one or two Meet&greets. (And of course POs and autographs, but that goes without saying.) So, not a very promising start. Only reason I'm not completely heartbroken? I noticed this year that lots of APs were being sold... No, wait, wrong verb. They were not being sold, they were... They were... I don't remember. I know it's some weird verb cause nothing is ever sold in the JIB universe. But anyways... I noticed that a lot of APs were being whatevered before the con, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. (Even though it's probably not nice to hope some poor schmuck won't be able to go to the con.) And I'm definitely planning on getting me one of those.

But for now, a Demon pass will have to do.

So, I'm curious. What's so great about JIB? I mean, it obviously has to be the best con ever if they managed to sell out APs in the first 3 minutes. But I don't get it. I saw the schedule for this year. And they had like five things at the same time all the time. So it's like, whatever you do, you're gonna miss something. I don't like missing something. So, what are the upsides?
